Consulting

Homeowners, contractors and architects look for concrete advice

ACDI consults nationally for many prospective concrete companies, architects and homeowners looking for a particular design.  The question remains how do you design, install and protect your new concrete investment?

Based on 25+ years of experience in the concrete industry, there are many elements of a concrete installation that need to be addressed before one yard of mud comes rolling out of the truck.  Whether its access to the jobsite or how to compliment features of a home, ACDI has the experience and proven track record to assist customer's throughout this process.

Concrete limitations

Concrete designs and products will vary depending upon weather conditions and the way they are installed.  This is especially critical to know before you commit to particular colors and stains.  A variety of decorative concrete sealers that work in the northwest don't work where hot weather is typical.  Concrete contractors can contact ACDI regarding installation instructions and troubleshooting problems on the jobsite

Knowing the limitations of concrete products is another crucial piece of information that will guide a concrete project in the right direction.  For example, did you know acid stains are not recommended around pool decks?  The PH levels within a pool are managed by adding small amounts of muratic acid.  The sealers used to protect acid stained concrete are "breathable," allowing moisture to work through the surface.  When the pool company uses muratic acid, small drops of the acid eat your stained concrete away.

How about stamp concrete maintenance?  Decorative stamp concrete, although elegant and beautiful, require annual pressure washing and re-sealing to protect the color.  When the sealer wears down, all traffic begins to scrape the color and slowly expose gray concrete beneath.
